"# Connecting to Asana's MCP Server

The Asana MCP server is available at:
    <https://mcp.asana.com/sse>

This server requires authentication with your Asana account. When connecting, you will be prompted to authorize the application to access your Asana data.

    🔒 Allowlist

Due to the implementation of an OAuth redirect URI allowlist, some third-party applications might require additional configuration or registration of their redirect URI with Asana Support before a successful connection can be established. If you’re a maintainer of an MCP client, see Integrating with Asana’s MCP Server  for details on how to register.

    Available tools

Asana’s MCP server includes 30+ tools for:

    1. Project tracking and status updates
    2. Task creation and management
    3. User information
    4. Getting updates on Goals
    5. Team organization
    6. Quick Asana object searching via typeahead

    Troubleshooting

    1. If authentication fails, try logging out of your Asana account and logging back in.
If that does not address the issue or you see a ""Client not found"" error, try removing the Asana MCP integration within your client and adding it back.

    2. Ensure your MCP client supports SSE-based servers (not Streamable HTTP)

    3. If you’re still not able to connect or are seeing an invalid_redirect_uri error,
reach out to the maintainer of the tool you're using or see
      Integrating with Asana’s MCP Server

    4. Check that your client can handle OAuth authentication flows

    5. Verify you have the necessary permissions in your Asana workspace

User-Friendly, Organized Workflow with Seamless Dropbox & Outlook Integration

    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like that is it user friendly and easy to train and onboard new users. I always feel organized when using it because it's so easy to use and I set things up in the way that makes sense to me. I like that it integrates with Dropbox and Outlook so I can easily import my emails as tasks. The AI features help when I can't figure something out or don't have time to build out a full project on my own.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I've yet to find a downside. I have been using Asana since 2018 and it just keeps getting better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for a way to keep media traffic with our media company clean and easy to track, Asana made it easy to create a project for that and keep it all organized. We have a large client that we needed help organizing multiple projects for, we were using a spreadsheet before and this makes it easier for our team to manage.

    Supercharges Task Management with Ease

    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy Asana is to use and how organized it is. The ability to apply rules to shortcut monotonous task inputs is fantastic. It saves me time because I can set repeating tasks for certain days of the week or monthly, so I don't have to enter them each time. I also appreciate that it lets me save project templates to copy-paste our process each month and update as needed. The initial setup was very easy, and the intro videos provided helped us learn quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to be able to have a time clock in Asana that runs while you work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps with scheduling, approval processes, task management, and project organization. I love its ease of use and organization, and the rules save me time by automating tasks and enabling project templates.

Clean, Intuitive Asana That Makes Even Big Task Lists Feel Manageable

    Reviewed on Apr 20, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Asana is how clean and intuitive it feels right out of the box. It somehow makes even a huge list of tasks feel manageable instead of overwhelming. I also like being able to switch between a list, a board, or a calendar view depending on how my brain is working that day. The little animations when you complete a task are a nice touch, too—it genuinely makes checking things off feel like a win. Overall, it’s a smooth experience that doesn’t feel like “work” just to stay organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I find pretty annoying is that you can’t assign a single task to multiple people. I understand they want one person to be accountable, but in the real world a lot of work is a group effort, and having to duplicate tasks just to show who’s involved is a hassle.

The pricing can also feel a bit like a trap. It’s not easy to add just one person at a time, since you’re pushed into buying seats in blocks of five. For a smaller team, that ends up feeling like wasted money.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana basically prevents those “who was supposed to do that?” conversations from happening. Before we started using it, we were constantly digging through old chats and emails just to figure out the next step on a project. Now everything has a clear owner and a due date, so there’s far less confusion about what needs to happen and who’s responsible.

It’s also helped me stay on top of my own workload, because I can see exactly what’s on my plate for the week without having to keep a mental list of everything. Overall, it takes a lot of the stress out of managing a busy schedule.
